What’s Up in the Neighborhood, March 2 2024

So … I’m in a really good mood today. And there are plenty of reasons why.

First off, Hamilton College, my alma mater, just knocked off the #1 seed Amherst on Friday afternoon en route to the New England Small College Athletic Conference finals in women’s ice hockey – and one more win will send the Continentals back to the tournament for the second consecutive years. So for all you “Roll Tide” and “Hook ’em Horns” people out there … this is my time to gloat and show college pride. Nyah. Plus, Amherst is a safety school anyways. They deserve to get beaten. ๐Ÿ˜€

Secondly, the Albany Patroons returned with a roof-rocking big opening night win in front of a capacity crowd over the visiting Jamestown Jackals. The Patroons are now 1-0 and will face the expansion Connecticut Crusaders tonight at the Armory.

And the third thing … I was able to start the blog with those two personal fist-pumps and not think about my surgery recovery. These are the steps to normalcy. Normalcy is extremely important. And I will get there.

But now that I’ve addressed personal issues … let’s get Saturday started with the recap of this week’s blogroll of photographers and writers and thought-provokers. Ready? Set? Here we go.

Have a great weekend, everybody!!
